The Marin Girls Chorus Training Division serves younger singers who display musical talent, a passion for singing, and wish to explore the traditions of choral singing and musicianship. Choristers in the training division are taught vocal production, note-reading and musicianship.
Enrollment is by semester.
No previous singing experience required.
Requires an informal vocal assessment.
Choristers in this division typically range from grades 2-8.
Level II : Gaudiosa
“Joyful”
“To be sung in a merry or joyful manner”
“To be sung in a merry or joyful manner" A more rigorous program than our Entrada classes, Gaudiosa is an introductory-level ensemble serving girls who seek a more formal choral training. Rehearsals focus on vocal production, basic musicianship and easy ensemble singing. Rehearsals are 60 minutes; 3 offerings per week. Performance opportunities include one to two community concerts and our end-of semester all chorus concert. Choristers in Gaudiosa will typically range from grades 2-5.

Level III : Brava

An intermediate-level ensemble serving girls who are continuing their choral training, or entering MGC with previous experience or musical ability. Rehearsals further skills in vocal production, musicianship and explore ensemble signing in two and three part-harmony. Rehearsals are 90 minutes with two offerings per week. Performance opportunities include one to two community concerts and our end-of-semester all-chorus concert. Brava students are also invited to attend the spring overnight retreat with the concert division. Choristers in Brava will typically range from 4th-8th grade.
