with Cole Thomason-Redus and special guests
August 10–12 2022
10:30am–4:30pm
Church of Nativity, 333 Ellen Dr. San Rafael
3 days of intensive vocal training to inspire and empower singers entering grades 6-12.
Are you ready to take your vocal skills to the next level? Our Vocal Skills Boot Camp will expand your range, teach you new and more advanced vocal techniques and repertoire, improve your musicianship skills, and most importantly – you'll gain more confidence as a singer. Join MGC Upper Division Director Cole Thomason-Redus for three full days of hard-work and fun at this singing boot camp!
What does a typical day of singing boot camp look like?
Each morning begins with a rigorous vocal and physical warm-up, designed to discover, and increase the potential and power of your voice. We then divide into smaller skill-based groups for intensive study of solfege, sight-reading, musicianship, and the performance of classical art songs. Afternoons are more relaxed as we dive into the non-classical genres of folk, musical theater, and jazz, while also exploring career options in music that fall outside of the spotlight and stage.
