The old joke goes like this:
A person with a violin case stops another musician on the streets of New York and asks, “How do you get to Carnegie Hall?” The other musician replies: “Practice!”
It’s true; it takes decades of hard work to get there. But for our Bel Canto and Chantons singers, their path to that famous stage is expedited through an invitation to participate in a choral festival at Carnegie Hall from June 11-15, 2020.
This isn’t the first time Marin Girls Chorus has performed on that stage. In 2015, middle and high school age singers traveled to New York on their annual choral tour. Other recent tours include Disneyland and Hearst Castle, the Pacific International Choral Festival in Oregon, Crescent City Choral Festival in New Orleans, and the inaugural Texas International Choral Festival.
All Bel Canto and Chantons singers enrolled for the 2019-2020 season are eligible to participate in the Carnegie Hall Tour. To reserve your spot, register today. Cost of tour participation is not included in annual enrollment.
In addition to the Carnegie Hall tour, our 32nd season includes performances at a Golden State Warriors game, Marin Symphony Holiday Concerts By Candlelight, Redwoods Retirement Home, and many more. Preliminary dates for events that have already been scheduled and confirmed can be found here.
